’The opportunity to build a personal lines proposition from the ground up was a major attraction for me,’ says appointee

Specialist MGA Euna has appointed Steve Morse as head of personal lines as it continues to build out its recently launched private client proposition.

Morse joins the business with almost 40 years of experience in the insurance sector and a track record of leading underwriting and sales teams across the market.

He arrives from Aviva, where he most recently served as underwriting director for Aviva Private Clients. Prior to that, he held a similar position at Axa XL.

Earlier in his career, Morse spent more than 15 years at Hiscox, working across underwriting, sales and leadership roles before becoming a partner in 2017.

Reporting directly to chief executive Ross Dingwall, Morse will help drive the development of Euna’s personal lines business following the launch of its specialist home product in July.

“The opportunity to build a personal lines proposition from the ground up was a major attraction for me,” Morse said.

”Brokers need specialist underwriting expertise combined with speed, flexibility and accessibility – qualities that lie at the heart of Euna’s ethos.”

Third departure

The proposition focuses on non-standard residential and contract works risks that increasingly fall outside the appetite of mainstream insurers. Cover includes listed buildings, non-standard construction properties, unoccupied homes and risks involving high profile clients.

Morse is the third high net worth executive to leave Aviva for this project, with Simon Goddard and Sam Gardiner having joined earlier this year.

Dingwall said: “Morse is a standout appointment for Euna. His depth of experience in the private client market, proven leadership skills and strong broker relationships across the UK make him the ideal person to lead our new personal lines offering.

”His appointment underlines our ambition to build a genuinely specialist proposition that gives brokers greater choice and expert support for complex risks.”
