Andy Chesters to write broad book of fleet business

Novae Insurance has appointed Andy Chesters as unit head of its new motor fleet division.

Andy joins Novae Insurance from Chaucer where he spent seven years underwriting motor fleet risks. Before that he was an underwriter at Royal Sun Alliance for twelve years, again specialising in fleet underwriting.

A deputy head of the unit and a claims handler will be appointed shortly.

Chesters said: "We will look to write most classes of fleet insurance including coaches and haulage, but excluding self-drive."

Peter Matson, Novae Group chief underwriting officer, saidt: "We are implementing our strategy of adding new, complementary classes of profitable business led by experienced, seasoned underwriters and Andy's appointment is the latest development of this strategy."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
