Norwich Union Healthcare has acquired Private Health Care, one of the largest independent providers of occupational health solutions in the UK.

The acquisition will enable Norwich Union Healthcare to add a range of occupational health services to its existing suite of products. They include pre-employment assessments, mobile health screening and sickness absence management.

The acquisition signals a further move by Norwich Union Healthcare to become one of the biggest providers in the UK for complementary employee benefit solutions.

The acquisition includes the transfer of all people engaged in running the business, including management staff, to Norwich Union Healthcare. The staff of Private Health Care will remain at their current offices.

Graham Boffey, managing director of Norwich Union Healthcare, said: “The deal will significantly benefit both businesses, offering the occupational health services greater exposure to expert resources such as IT, staff training and development and strong financial investment, while enabling Norwich Union Healthcare to significantly grow this complementary area.”

He said the occupational health services will be included as part of Norwich Union Healthcare's product range. Norwich Union Healthcare will continue to offer the current range of products and services to new and existing customer, as well as developing new products.
