Oak makes hire from Zurich for underwriting head

RSA-owned Oak Underwriting, has appointed David Rowntree to the newly created position of head of underwriting and pricing.

Rowntree joins Oak from Zurich where he spent four years in Dubai leading the technical development of the underwriting functions across all markets including high-net-worth.

Prior to that Rowntree was head of personal lines underwriting (non motor). He will join Oak on 21 December and will report to managing director Mark Coffey.

Coffey said “We look forward to welcoming Dave to Oak. The depth and breadth of his experience will be a real asset to our management team and he will play an integral role in helping us realise our ambitious plans for growth and market penetration in 2016 and beyond.”
