Property, casualty and motor experts form new unit

QBE has created an integrated risk management service for its property, casualty and motor division (PCM).

The new team, headed by Richard Thomas, combines QBE’s existing PCM and professional indemnity risk management experts in one unit.

The senior team will include risk managers Sean Bell (property), Phil Bladon (casualty), Doug Jenkins (motor) and Deborah O’Riordan (professional indemnity).

The team has already been strengthened with the appointment of Steven Cheung, client risk manager - property, who joins QBE from FM Global, where he was previously client account engineering manager.

The ongoing development of the unit will involve further recruitment in the casualty, motor fleet and PI risk management areas over the next three to six months, QBE added.

Ash Bathia, chief underwriting officer for PCM said: “As QBE European Operation's largest single division we support a diverse range of clients in terms of size, industry sector, geography and risk complexity.

"We are combining our considerable risk management experience and expertise to deliver a unique solution to our valued customers; combining technological, professional and bespoke advice and client facing solutions"
