Fat cats. They're everywhere.
Royal and SunAlliance (R&SA) never seems to learn. After the problems it had with "copping a Mendelsohn", the insurer has fallen prey to its shareholders' outrage again.
This time it involves finance director Julian Hance, who is to be paid a £250,000 bonus this year on top of his £400,000 salary - just for turning up at work during 2003.
Backchat wonders whether these generous golden handcuffs will make its way down the corporate food chain so R&SA's staff can at least get a few quid for getting out of bed in the morning.
Maybe the phrase a "a back-Hancer" will make it into City jargon?
