Insurance Times readers spend their time in their cars on the phone, trying not to let their rowdy dogs distract them, according to a new survey.

In the survey of readers, 62% admitted using the phone while driving, with half of these confessing to not always using a hands free kit. But 65% felt there should be a total ban on phone use while in the car.

Readers rated the worst safety hazards on the road as driver fatigue and using a mobile phone without a hands free kit. Pets in the car was rated third.
