Getting the injured back to work and passing on vital job skills to the next generation emerged as a central theme at this year's conference of the Association of Insurance and Risk Managers (Airmic).

Airmic has joined the CBI in an initiative designed to persuade UK businesses to do more to encourage injured or sick employees to return to work.

The program was unveiled at Airmic's annual conference in Brighton.

Companies that take rehabilitation seriously can expect to generate large savings, Airmic said in a statement.

"Other advantages include a happier, fitter, more motivated work force, retention of key skills and lower compensation expenses leading to reduced insurance premiums," it added.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
