RFIB Group, the international Lloyd's insurance and reinsurance broker, has established an office at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
RFIB already handles significant levels of marine and non-marine business in the Middle East.
The Dubai office will be headed by former British Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Anthony Harris.
Patrick Holcroft, group chief executive, said: "Given the rapid growth in the Middle East, we feel it is the ideal time to expand our presence and we are looking forward to further strengthening our connections in the region.”
