West Midlands deputy chief fire officer Vij Randeniya has blasted Direct Line over a sprinkler system he installed in his six-bedroom house.
He reckoned the reduced fire risk would earn him a reduction in premium to pay for his four-figure investment. He was wrong. He said Direct Line refused to cut his premium because sprinklers are prone to going off and damaging property.
