Former VPL chief in electronic link with Jelf

Recently departed Smart & Cook chief, Paul Meehan, has been sending mixed messages to the market. As speculation abounds that Meehan could return to the insurance sector in the near future, Backchat spies were informed that has been in touch with, among others, Jelf chief Alex Alway.

Given that Meehan knows a thing or two about acquisitions, it's not so surprising. The problem is that his messages were blank. It is understood that Meehan accidentally sent the texts during his latest guitar session.

“He keeps texting me,” lamented Alway. “Anyone would think I’m doing a deal with him.

“I don’t think he’s mastered mobile phones yet.”

That may well be the case. Meehan is understood to have deleted Alway from his phonebook as a result.
