The explosion at a fertiliser factory in Toulouse last Friday, September 21, could cost the insurance industry as much as $400m (£271.2m), according to initial estimates.
It is believed the explosion centred on an ammonium nitrate storage facility. 300 tonnes of the substance were destroyed, 29 people were killed and more than 2000 were injured. Several buildings were damaged or destroyed.
