Towergate has made a number of senior appointments as part of their plans for the newly created Sales & Service operation.

Jonathan Walker has joined as sales & service managing director, following senior roles within Budget Insurance.

Other key positions have been filled internally, with Tony Lawrence appointed sales director and Alyson Adsett as marketing manager.

The new operation will report to Retail Broking Division CEO, Amanda Blanc.

Towergate said the unit is to be the focal point to service higher volume and lower premium business, with specialty businesses including professional risks, caravans, military personal cover, road haulage, doctors, dentists and alternative therapists.

The company said total GWP is approaching £150m.

Amanda Blanc said: “We have such a wide range of clients that a great service offering is as important as providing the right product at the right price. I think the public are starting to rebel against anonymous call centres and lack of personal service – our Sales & Service businesses are customer focused and UK-based.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
