Self-regulation of price comparison sites hit by further blows
Two more price comparison sites Tescocompare and BeatThatQuote have withdrawn from the voluntary industry self-regulator Comparison Consortium (Coco), the Guardian reports.
It said “The Coco website is currently down and nobody from the code's management has returned our calls.”
"We have been part of various discussions with Coco but, at this stage, we will not be signing up to their accreditation scheme," a spokesman for Tescocompare said.
"We remain supportive of any initiative that has customers' best interests at the fore, and will continue to keep a watchful eye on [Coco's] efforts."
