Phillip Ellis will head up Willis' London-based global energy practice.
Ellis, an energy expert, has been working at the Boston Consulting Group's oil and gas practice for the past six years. He has also worked for Booz Allen Hamilton.
In his new role, Ellis will report to David Margrett, chief executive of Willis Global Specialties.
