The Willis Group is to acquire Danish reinsurance broker Kirecon A/S, based in Copenhagen, for an undisclosed sum.
Willis chief executive and chairman Joe Plumeri said: "Reinsurance is a great strength of Willis and a business that the company is very committed to.
"This acquisition of a quality team that is well known and respected in the Danish market will further strengthen our Nordic reinsurance business."
