Zurich UK Commercial will sponsor 50 places for brokers on a one-year BA (Hons) Insurance Management degree course.

The course at the University of Central England in Birmingham is specifically designed for brokers holding the ACII qualification plus five years' experience in the industry.

The places will be open to Zurich UK Commercial's top 350 brokers.

Zurich UK Commercial distribution and marketing manager Dave Smith said: "The University of Central England is a highly respected institution with one of the best and largest business schools in the UK. We place great emphasis on providing the best possible training for our key brokers.

"We are continually working to give appropriate support to brokers, who want to shape their businesses to meet the challenges of an increasingly demanding industry, by developing key staff."

Students will be assessed unit by unit through coursework rather than examinations. Much of the work will be on a self-study basis, requiring about 15 hours' study a week.

The degree aims to develop several key competencies including strategic management marketing, risk management and financial management.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
