Norwich Union Healthcare has published a guide, Family Pharmacy, after research found that one person in four may be taking out-of-date medicine at home.

It also found that 70% didn't know how to dispose of it correctly.

The study shows:

  • 25% of people don't have antiseptic at home, and 10% don't even have basic items such as aspirin or paracetamol at home
  • Britons are unprepared for the start of the holiday season, with more than 30% not having bought sun screen
  • More than 50% of Britons could not measure their temperature as they do not have a thermometer.
