Admiral Insurance has created 50 new jobs at its Swansea call centre.

According to a report, communications manager Louise Scadden said business growth had led to the need to increase staffing levels.

The company said it had adopted an employee-friendly shift system for its UK based operations, with unpopular shifts outsourced to India. “It is important for us to ensure that staff are happy in their job,” said Scadden.

“It is good news for Swansea staff who didn't want to work after 6pm and at weekends.”

She said the team in India was a small one overseen by British staff.
