Alliance Risk Management boss, John McLaren-Stewart, has taken over as chairman of BIBA's nominations committee.

The position involves finding key replacements for BIBA's top positions and recommending them to the BIBA board. The current task is to find a new chairman for BIBA's audit remuneration committee, to succeed current incumbent George Boden.

Eric Galbraith, BIBA chief executive, said: "We are delighted to welcome John to the position of chairman of BIBA's nomination committee. He brings a wealth of broking experience with him to the role. Such experience will be an asset to the committee and will help BIBA to continue to strengthen its structure and provide the best possible services to members."

McLaren-Stewart, head of Alliance Corporate Risk Management, said he was looking forward to his new role. "The Association is important to all of us in the industry and the chairman of the nominations committee can help with a vital part of BIBA's work."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
