Lloyd's insurer Amlin is hoping to expand its £9m bloodstock account, following the appointment of bloodstock underwriter, David Ashby.
Amlin currently underwrites £9m of business a year through its bloodstock unit headed by Andrew Wright. Amlin said it hopes the appointment will enable Wright to refocus more time on its energy account.
Previously Ashby worked with QBE International Insurance where he was lead bloodstock underwriter for over eight years.
Amlin chief executive Charles Philipps said: "We are delighted to have attracted someone of David's calibre to lead our expansion in bloodstock.
"His relationships and bloodstock expertise should result in profitable growth of this account. It will also allow Andrew to further develop the opportunities in the energy sector."
