Aon is to drive "tens of thousands" of personal injury claims through InterResolve, in a partnership expected to revolutionise Aon's claim process.

Aon's corporate clients will be offered the service, which will give them access to InterResolve's bodily injury claims scheme.

The scheme provides fixed legal, medical and mediation costs for motor, employers' and public liability claims.

It aims to offer a settlement within 18 months of a claim being made, cutting the satellite costs involved in personal injury, and halving the average time it takes insurers to pay personal injury claims.

Peter Ashdown-Barr, chief executive of InterResolve, told Insurance Times that Aon had been trialling the claims process for the past six months.

"Aon's success means that InterResolve will be on offer at first to corporate clients," he said. "Later it will be made available to Aon's liability insurance partners."
