Poaching of staff and computer hacking of client lists alleged

A unit of Aon is suing Marsh & McLennan (MMC), its US insurance broker, and three former Aon employees for allegedly stealing trade secrets and trying to poach clients from Aon's trade credit insurance business, Dow Jones reported.

The Manhattan District Court case alleges a former Aon trade credit executive conspired with high-level Marsh executives to unlawfully solicit Aon clients and two employees to move to Marsh before leaving the company in February.

Aon alleges they "did engage in a series of illegal computer hacking of sensitive Aon trade secret information pertaining to the Aon business targeted by defendants in their raid".

A Marsh spokesman didn't immediately respond to a request for comment late Monday, Dow Jones said.
