Lloyd's managing agent Ascot Underwriting has appointed Torquil McLusky as business development manager.
McLusky, formerly senior manager of Lloyd's worldwide markets, will join Ascot on 22 December.
Ascot, whose Syndicate 1414 is backed by AIG, said the appointment underlined its focus on the expansion of its operations.
It coincides with an increase in the company's forecast range for the 2002 year of account, up from 22.5% - 27.5% to 24% - 29%, said Ascot.
McLusky's responsibilities will include determining international insurance opportunities.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
