Atrium Underwriting has appointed Philip Swatman and Raymond Dumas as independent non-executive directors of the Company.

Swatman will replace James Joll, who will become chairman of the company.

Swatman will also take over the chairmanship of the remuneration committee.

The company also said that George Rivaz has decided not to seek re-election as a director at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting as he requires more time to pursue the increasing demands of his other business interests.

Steve Cook, chief executive officer, said: "We are delighted to welcome Philip and Raymond to the Board. Philip's commercial and financial acumen and Raymond's knowledge and depth of experience of the Lloyd's market will be of considerable benefit to the Company."
