Aviva is to appoint Tim Harris as group chief accountant.

Harris will succeed Nic Nicandrou, previously group financial control director at Aviva, who was recently appointed finance director for Norwich Union Life.

He joins Aviva from PricewaterhouseCoopers where he is a partner in the global capital markets group.

The company said he has extensive experience of the Aviva group having previously spent four years in Aviva's group finance team, initially leading projects within the global finance transformation programme and latterly in the role of group financial reporting director.

Andrew Moss said, “Tim has been prominent in many of the emerging financial control and reporting discussions taking place within the insurance industry, both at an EU and UK level. His knowledge and experience will be an undoubted asset to Aviva as we continue to take a leading role in shaping the future for insurance standards in financial reporting.”
