Claims staff taught lesson on insurance fraud

AXA Insurance has stepped up its fight against fraud by sending claims staff on a course designed to help detect insurance fraud.

The group of staff in its it general insurance business achieved a 100% pass rate in the University Certificate in Continuing Education (UCCE) Insurance Fraud Technician course.

They also became amongst the first in the industry to receive the new Accredited Counter Fraud Technician (ACFTech) qualification, the insurer said.

Richard Davies, group fraud risk manager - group operational risk at AXA UK said: “I would like to congratulate my colleagues on achieving a 100% pass rate.

"This represents a great success for both them and AXA at a time when the fight against fraud could not be more important."

The course is designed to raise awareness of the issues and procedures relating to fraud and its investigation in a modern, customer-sensitive environment.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
