Many people in the industry will be wondering what Backchat's old mucker Derek Plummer is going to do with himself, given that he has the somewhat impermanent sounding job of “floating director” in the new-look Norwich Union.
Backchat has heard rumours of several lucrative offers, none of which has so far attracted Plummer. Perhaps he has had enough of the insurance industry and is going to take up his long-time love of DJ-ing. Plummer is a long-standing friend of DJ Johnny Walker and is rumoured to have once had an offer of work from Radio One. Those in Norwich know he can still spin a mean turntable occasionally. Sounds like a plum job.
