Backchat understands that Andrew Paddick's Institute of Insurance Brokers (IIB) is staffed, apart from himself, entirely by women. Backchat understands that "the commander" believes he gets higher productivity out of his abstemious staff because they do not go to the pub at lunch time.
Unfortunately, this lack of drinking practice proved costly recently. The whole IIB office went out to the local insurance institute dinner and the IIB kindly arranged for taxis home for its staff at the end of the evening.
But it hadn't budgeted for the extra costs charged by the irate drivers who were unable to pick up further fares that evening while they cleaned the seats to rid their cabs of the nauseous smell.
The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
