Former AXA Corporate Solutions head Adrian Ballardie is to take up the post of chief risk officer at Aspen Re.
Ballardie, who is to be based in London, left AXA early last year following a decision by the French insurer to sell off several units.
His next move had been subject to intense speculation, with rumours circulating of his return at the head of a start-up operation late last year.
