Leeds-based insurance broker Bartlett has marked the opening of its Hong Kong office by providing a scholarship for Chinese students to take an MBA at the University of Hull.
The Bartlett Foundation, which is funded from Bartlett Group profits, will provide £50,000 to cover the tuition fees of five Chinese students taking the one-year course over the next five years.
Bartlett chairman Michael Bartlett said: "We are delighted to award this scholarship because it strengthens our links with China by providing support for education.
"We have established our first Chinese office in Hong Kong and our medium term aim will be to also open an office on mainland China."
He added that the company saw strong opportunities with the Chinese market continuing to open up.
The Hong Kong office is Bartlett's third overseas office. The company already has branches in the US and in Germany.
