BGL-owned aggregator Comparethemarket is in talks with movie legend Arnold Schwarzenegger about promoting its new cinema ticket deal.

Comparethemarket is taking over from EE’s Orange Wednesdays on the two-for-one ticket offer. The deal will be expanded so that film-goers can use it on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

The tie-up with cinema body Cinema First means Meerkat Movies will be launched on 3 April.

Comparethemarket wants Schwarzenegger to help promote Meerkat Movies before the release of the new Terminator movie, The Times reports.

Orange owner EE felt that the £10m renewal deal was too costly.
