Biba has joined forces with the Faculty of Insurance Broking to offer a regional programme of masterclasses on Professional Indemnity.
The classes, which will run in April and May, will be led by Roger Flaxman, professional liability adviser to Biba, along with Tim Bull and Simon Goldring, partners at Reynolds Porter Chamberlain.
Flaxman said: “PI insurance is often the second highest overhead to professional firms after employment costs. The added value that can be provided by brokers who are well versed in the underlying causes of professional liability is of immense value to their client.”
Faculty of Insurance Broking manager, Jessica Yeoh, said: “This is an extraordinarily vibrant masterclass on a subject that is not only of relevance to brokers selling PI products but also relevant to the broker/intermediaries' own liability under the new FSA regulations. Brokers aspiring to sell this product or understand the risks to authorised insurance intermediaries, cannot afford to miss this exciting new programme.”
The masterclass is aimed at the practitioner with at least intermediate knowledge and practical professional indemnity broking experience and will cover:
• Managing professional client's expectations
• Policy documentation and endorsements — how to make them work together
• Managing claim notifications - the finer points of law
• Principles of management of professional risk – how to add value that your client will pay for.
