Lord Walker has announced his retirement as chairman of Allianz Cornhill.

Walker will be succeeded by Clement B Booth, who is a member of Allianz AG's board of management and a director of Allianz Cornhill.

Booth said: “On behalf of both the shareholder Allianz AG as well as the management and staff of Allianz Cornhill, I would like to express sincere thanks to Lord Walker for his guidance and wise counsel over the years. Lord Walker played an important role in helping Allianz Cornhill achieve its excellent market position within the United Kingdom market and we wish him everything of the best for the future.”

Walker said: “I have been very privileged to be the chairman of Allianz Cornhill, a company with excellent team spirit and I would like to thank all for their support. It has been a particular pleasure to work with the CEO, Andrew Torrance, and I have no doubt that the company will go from strength to strength in the years to come. I am delighted that Clement B Booth will be taking on the task of Chairman and I wish him, and all of the management and staff at Allianz Cornhill and its many customers, every success in the years ahead.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
