Larry Lipman, the flamboyant executive chairman of Hercules Property Services, has left the company following Erinaceous' takeover, along with four other directors.
Property entrepreneur Lipman set up the company in 1996 when he demerged and floated the property management and insurance arms of Safeland, another of his vehicles.
The group grew rapidly by acquisition in its early years, but growth stalled more recently. A spokeswoman for Erinaceous said that Lipman "got bored, as he's very much a dealer. Towards the end, he was only spending half a day per week with Hercules".
Day-to-day affairs were being run by chief executive Robert Plumb, but he has been replaced by Erinaceous' Neil Bellis.
Of the ongoing business, the spokeswoman added: "Redundancies will be very few - just at the headquarters level. At the front line there will be no change - in fact we are recruiting."
