Brit Insurance has appointed Richard Coulthwaite to the newly-created post of finance director, underwriting.
Coulthwaite joined the company in April. He will report to group finance director.
He joined Brit after spending five years at Aviva, most recently as director of finance change, leading a finance transformation programme across the Aviva Group.
Prior to this, he held various other senior positions at Aviva, including head of group financial planning and director of finance strategy.
Matthew Scales, Brit Group finance director, said: "This role has been created to help draw together the financial management of Brit's increasingly complex underwriting operations while responding to the ever more demanding statutory and regulatory requirements.”
