Norwich Union has reaffirmed its commitment to regional brokers following today's board room shake up.

Speaking to Insurance Times Norwich Union intermediary business director Ken Wallace said: "The Aviva and Norwich Union board changes do not affect our broker arrangements. The regional structure will stay as it is.

"The changes announced today are going to streamline our operations and improve the consistency of our broker relationships. In leaving intermediary operations in tact we are confirming our commitment to the existing broker plans."

According to Wallace forthcoming changes will be operational rather than strategic. He added: "The streamlining of the board is to get everyone working closely as an operation."
