John Ansell
Craig Smith has been appointed to the management team of John Ansell & Partners to be responsible for new business and insurer relations. He previously worked in the company and broker markets in London and the United States.
Marsh
Dan Jones has been appointed president and chief executive of Marsh Europe. He will be based in London.
His previous role was as chairman and chief executive of Marsh UK.
Prior to the Johnson & Higgins merger with Marsh & McLennan, he was responsible for Johnson & Higgins' business interests in Europe.

Lloyd's TSB
Jon Pain has been appointed managing director of Lloyd's TSB Insurance. He succeeds Dennis Holt, who is to become group executive director in charge of retail distribution. Pain is currently managing director of Lloyd's TSB Private Banking and was previously area director for the Nottingham, Lincolnshire and Derby area. He has been at the company since 1974.
Prime Health
Julian Ross has been appointed marketing manager at Prime Health, Standard Life's healthcare subsidiary. Ross will report to Simon Douglas, business development and underwriting director.
Lloyd's
Max Taylor
Max Taylor, chairman of Lloyd's has been appointed to the US Insurance Information Institute. The US accounts for one third of Lloyd's business in surplus lines and reinsurance.
Liberty
Jim Wadey has been appointed to Liberty Motor, part of Liberty Syndicate Management, as fleet box underwriter. Also joining are Norman Banks, who is senior private car underwriting assistant and Colin Chatten, who is senior claims negotiator. Wadey was previously the box underwriter at Torch Motor Policies and, before that, fleet manager at Leadenhall Motor Policies. Banks was previously senior schemes underwriter for Crowe Motor Syndicate while Chatten was with Equity Red Star, where he was group assistant claims manager.
RJ Wallace
Lesley Mills has been appointed construction director of RJ Wallace. She will be based in London and will
specialise in the developing and underwriting of the company's construction portfolio. Also, Elliot Miller and Antony Broome have been appointed directors of RJ Wallace in the Glasgow and Manchester branches respectively.

Glyn Robertshaw has been appointed to the newly-created role of marketing and operations consultant at Donns Solictors in
Manchester. He is a former chairman of the UK Claims Managers
Association. His main responsibility will be business development.

Ed Anderson has been appointed to Crutes Solicitors in Newcastle where he will work with the professional indemnity team. He was
previously with Pinsent Curtis in London.
James Chapman
Paula Whittell has been appointed to Manchester-based James Chapman insurance
litigation firm to handle claims relating to catastrophic injuries. She was previously with Hempsons, also in Manchester, and specialises in defending medical negligence cases.

Rebus Group
Geoff Cowan has been made partner manager at Rebus Insurance Systems (RIS), a division of Rebus Group. He was previously with Sherwood International where he was a senior consultant within Sherwoods Amarta division. He also spent eight years at IT manager with Brockbank Group. Also, Derek Pratt joins RIS as marketing research manager from Commercial Union, where he worked throughout Asia in both a training and marketing capacity.

Steve Bellamy has been made chief operations officer for UK and the rest of world for Sherwood International in addition to his responsibilities as group financial director. The move follows a management reorganisation. In addition, Ian Bullen has been appointed insurance market UK/rest of world managing director. He was previously chief executive of Policy Management Systems.

Andrew Cheney has been appointed head of valuations at Vost's the fine art claims valuation service in Newmarket. He previously worked as a valuer and auctioneer in London and New York.
