Mark Maynard has been appointed to the broking team at The Godbold Hadden Group which includes G H Bray Clements. He was previously with National Insurance. Also Damon Blakey joins from Prompt having previously worked at Independent Insurance, and Diane Cook, who will have specific responsibility for claims, joins from CGU Insurance.

Syd Henderson has been appointed managing director of Columbus Direct in a move designed to strengthen the firm's position as a leading independent direct provider. Henderson has a strong background in direct marketing and was previously with Franklin Mint, Danbury Mint and Best Direct.
Allianz Cornhill
Phil Goodwin has been appointed as the new business development manager of Allianz Cornhill Engineering. He will be working closely with key personnel, brokers, intermediaries and clients. He was previously national business manager at Allianz Cornhill Engineering. Goodwin has nearly 30 years experience in the engineering insurance industry.

Tony Sherman has been appointed finance director of Iron Trades Insurance and will have board responsibility for financial and management reporting and control. He has been with Iron Trades since 1996 and was appointed general manager, finance earlier this year. He was previously a partner in Gane Jackson Scott, the London-based accountancy firm.
QBE International Insurance
Brian Lewis has been appointed to head the engineering division at QBE International Insurance. Based in the London Underwriting Centre, he will consolidate QBE's market position.

Lisa Walden has been appointed as broker communications manager at Axa Insurance. She joins from Maritz Communications where she was a brand consultant. Her new role will see her overseeing broker communication working closely with branch managers.

Edward Beckwith has been appointed as a professional and financial risk underwriter with R E Brown & Others Syndicate 702. He has been working in insurance since 1992 and was previously with Sedgwicks.
