Bupa has launched a £5 million television advertising campaign aimed at increasing awareness of its healthcare services.
The first two adverts in a series of four which launched last week focus on BUPA's health screening and self-paid operations at its 36 hospitals.
The second set of adverts covering elderly care and health insurance, will be screened towards the end of September. They unintentionally coincide with the Government's expected announcement on the future of long-term elderly care.
Each advert portrays ordinary people - a young woman suffering stress and an older man with a sports injury - grappling with a health concern, before BUPA resolves the issue.
Simon Sheard, BUPA brand director, said the campaign has been designed to broaden the health insurer's appeal.
"Everybody knows we are first choice for health insurance, but awareness of our services like care homes for the elderly and the ability to pay for treatment at BUPA hospitals will be news to many."
