David Brownsword has left Capita after the company announced the restructure of its investigation unit.

Brownsword, which pioneered the use of lie detector Digilog, was bought by Capita Commercial Services in Novemeber 2004. The company has now been integrated with Capita's advanced validation services for all claims, under the renamed Brownsword Investigation Services.

Brownsword left the company yesterday. The new unit is to be headed by Jason Carter, who has worked with Capita for a number of years.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
