Chaucer Syndicates has appointed Bruce Bartell as active underwriter for Syndicate 1084 for the 2006 year of account.
Bartell was previously active underwriter of Syndicate 1096, which merged into Syndicate 1084 in 2003.
He joined Chaucer in 1988 as active underwriter of Syndicate 1117.
Hugh Hayward will step down as active underwriter of the syndicate, but will continue to support Bartell to develop the syndicate's underwriting activities until his retirement in 2007.
