Chaucer Insurance is planning to introduce a non-standard motor facility specifically designed for the niche private car market.

The Chaucer Hi-Marque policy will initially be available through CSC Key Choice, followed by all the major screen-based quotation systems.

The new product joins Chaucer's standard motor Mota-Marque policy. Hi-Marque, like Mota-Marque, will be marketed through the insurer's existing agency network.

Alan Woodcock, Chaucer non-standard motor underwriter, said: “We will be focusing on high performance or modified cars, drivers with claims and convictions, and other non-standard risks.”

Woodcook recently joined Chaucer from non-standard motor insurers Sabre.

Chaucer Insurance is the personal lines business of Lloyd's managing agency Chaucer Syndicates. Its motor syndicate 587 has a capacity of £88.9m.
