Kevin McGlone, the new Association of Local Authority Risk Managers (Alarm) chairman, is seeking to bring the benefits of risk management to the public's attention during this term of office.

McGlone, (pictured above) who was appointed chairman in May, has planned a series on initiatives to bolster the profile of Alarm.

Particular focus will be given on improving communications between the different Alarm regions and introducing more workshops and seminars. He said: "I would like to see greater recognition for such work, wider acknowledgement of the role risk management can have in assisting public sector decision-making, and increased involvement of members."
