Chubb Commercial Insurance has appointed Simon Hayter as its European political risk specialist.

The new role, based in London, has been established to expand Chubb's political risk capabilities in Europe and worldwide.

Hayter previously worked for a leading London broking firm, Cooper Gay, where he co-established a political and credit risk operation.

Chubb's political risk manager for Europe Miles Wright said: "Simon brings a wealth of underwriting and strategic experience to the job and will be a valuable asset to our political risk team.

"His expertise in the area of African structural trade finance will be beneficial in our efforts to venture into new growth markets. He will be also be the driving force in expanding the group's abilities in the trade and structured trade finance sectors."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
