Companies are being urged to donate their unwanted electrical equipment to a charity which provides them to African children.
European legislation to be introduced in August will forbid businesses from simply disposing of old electrical equipment in landfill.
Digital Links International, a not for profit organisation that aims to improve the lives of people in the developing world by providing them with access to refurbished computer equipment, is urging businesses to donate their unwanted computers.
David Sogan, chief executive and founder of the company said: “Digital Links International represents a low cost way of managing their redundant equipment and gives them the added knowledge that their computers will help transform the educational and economic opportunities of thousands of young people in Africa and other developing countries.”
