Crawford is making up to 50 jobs redundant in a major restructuring of its UK business.

The roles will be shed within central support services and Crawford General Insurance.

The adjuster has pledged to limit the number of compulsory redundancies, wherever possible, by redeploying staff within Crawford UK, sabbaticals, flexible working and secondments to Crawford’s international offices.

Under the review, Crawford is creating four Crawford Commercial ‘strategic hubs’ in Glasgow, Birmingham, Liverpool and London to widen the skills on offers in these four locations.

The adjuster is also recruiting additional field adjusters in Crawford Commercial and claims handlers for its subsidiary Broadspire to meet current growth in claims handling contracts and further investment in rehabilitation & return to work.

Commenting on the shake-up, UK & Ireland chief executive officer Benedict Burke said: “The developments we have outlined signal our intent to continually improve our effectiveness, efficiency and service excellence whilst ensuring our business model is well prepared to withstand changes in our market.

“Crawford is working closely with employee representatives to find ways of keeping compulsory redundancies to an absolute minimum and is committed to giving employees as much help, information and support as possible at this time.”
