Devitt Insurance Services has scooped a prestigious award for its training programme from the Government.

Education and Employment Secretary David Blunkett yesterday presented the company with a National Training Award.

Devitt was the only broker to win one of the 14 special training awards.

"The people we recruit come from a huge range of backgrounds," training manager Kevin McAlpin said.

"What we are looking for primarily is raw talent – which means the interpersonal skills needed to build relationships with customers.

"Having all the technical knowledge in the world does not equate to being a good salesperson."

More than 60% of Devitt staff are working towards a national qualification.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
