Professional indemnity specialist Dickson Manchester has reached an agreement with Hiscox to invite renewal of business which needs a new home.

This follows the recent purchase by Hiscox of the regional distribution network of Chartwell Underwriting from US parent Trenwick Re. Most staff will transfer to Hiscox.

The business taken by DM will include that from brokers without enough business for a Hiscox agency and business which Hiscox cannot accommodate. DM says it expects to be able to cede rates of commission similar to Chartwell.

DM says it allows its broker friends the chance to offer continuity of underwriting where possible. Managing director Charles Manchester said: “This deal allows Hiscox to ensure that all of Chartwell's brokers continue to receive a first-class service.”
