Insurer’s nine-month GWP rises 7%
Legal & General wrote £221m of general insurance gross premium in the first nine months of 2011, up £15m, or 7%, compared with the same period last year.
Legal & General said the general insurance business GWP level had benefitted from the launch of its Direct Proposition products and continuing strong performance in the broker channel.
Total GWP for Legal & General’s protection business for the first nine months of 2011 was £915m, up £20m compared with the same period last year.
New business annual premium equivalent in the housing and protection division increased 5% to £137m.
